少年時代に読んだ入門者向けラジオ雑誌の記事には漫画イラスト入りのものも多く、またそれがアマチュア無線の情景をイメージさせるような、ワクワク感溢れるものだったりするから楽しかった。
ここに展示するのは1969年(昭和44年)に買い求めた誠文堂新光社「初歩のアマチュア無線製作読本」の中の漫画イラスト。この本は「初歩のラジオ」誌の別冊で、特に入門の中・高生が手軽に挑戦し易いワイヤレスマイク(要するに簡単な超QRP送信機)やシンプルな送・受信セットの記事が豊富だったから、中学1年生でも難しい理屈抜きで入って行けた。
1969年（大阪万博の前年）はちょうど無線従事者免許を取った年。記事を頼りにそのいくつかを実際に製作したから、該当部分にはおかしな書き込みも残っている。たまに取り出して見開くと、挿絵の少年と当時の自分の姿が妙にダブったりして、なんだか愛着が湧いてくる。
思い起こせば，学校や地域のアマチュア先輩諸氏から真空管やトランス、バリコンなどいろいろな部品をもらい、機器自作の面白さとそれで通信する楽しさを動機づけられたと思う。それと同時に、無線ラジオ雑誌の製作記事を通じて大いに啓発され、指導され、勇気付けられたことを懐かしく思い出し、ここに展示することにした。
作り物に対する好奇心とモノづくりへの誘いの先生役はラジオと実験で、自分も数多いその教え子の一人だった。同じような振り返りと共感を共にするアマチュア諸氏も多かろうと推察する。
There were a lot of articles with a cartoon illustration of the taste peculiar
to the radio magazine in my boyhood. Because those were the one which makes
me imagine the practical scene of the amateur radio, it was fun. Exhibited
images here are cartoon illustrations in "amateur radio making chrestomathy
rudimentary" of Seibundo Shinkosha Publishing Co., Ltd. which I bought
in 1969. This book was for junior high school and senior high school students
who are interested in wireless and HAM radio. Articles of the simple radio
set which we tend to manufacture easily were rich in the contents. Even
if difficult theory and calculation couldn't be understood, it was possible
enough to enjoy this book while dreaming of completion of original homebrew
sets.
1969 (one year before the Osaka expo) was the year when I got the amateur
radio operator license. There is remembrance which I manufactured and completed
some sets according to the articles actually. Therefore, I find myself
of old days projected on the cartoon illustrations strangely. The teacher
of the curiosity to the electronics products and manufacturing was “wireless
and experiment”. I think I was also one of its large number of students.
And I guess there are a lot of radio amateurs who do similar looking and
sympathizing together, too.
