　この記事を初めて読んだのは80年代中頃でした。技術的難易度が高いだけでなく、ドキュメントに熱意とリアルな躍動感が感じられ、感動したのを覚えています。アポロ15号ミッションから既に半世紀が過ぎ、もう遥か昔の話になってしまいましたが、VHFマインドを持つアマチュアスピリットを感じることのできるエピソードとして、21世紀に伝える価値があると思います。（K2RIWが使った自作12フィートストレス・ディッシュは、1972年8月号のQST記事で詳細解説されていました。付記します。）


It was in the mid 80's when I first read this article. I remember being impressed, not only by the technical difficulty, but also by the enthusiasm and realistic dynamism of the documentation. Half a century has already passed since the completion of the Apollo 15 mission, and it is now a distant memory, but as an episode of VHF-minded amateur spirit, it is worth passing on to the 21st century. (Note that the home-brew 12-foot stressed dish used by K2RIW was described in detail in the August 1972 issue of QST.)
